The Department of Computer Science was established in 1998 and currently operates with two sanctioned lecturer positions, both of which are filled. The department caters to a student body of 300, maintaining a demand ratio of 60 seats for every 120 applications and a teacher-to-student ratio of 1:150.
Offering a robust academic framework, the department provides two undergraduate programs: B.Sc in Mathematics, Physics, and Computer Science, and B.Sc in Mathematics, Electronics, and Computer Science. In alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP), the department introduced a single major program, B.Sc Honours in Computer Science, starting in 2023, to meet evolving educational standards and industry demands.
Facilities in the department include a well-equipped computer laboratory, WiFi accessibility throughout the campus, and advanced digital classrooms. The curriculum is designed to be comprehensive and industry-relevant, ensuring graduates are well-prepared for successful careers in the field of computer science.
