The department of English has been functioning since inception of the college during the year 1951. Special English was also introduced along with English as a First language. The department produced many eminent personalities and sent many bright students to Andhra and many universities. It is a matter of pride that some of the members of the faculty are very famous, as they had served in the capacity of the faculty and also rose to eminence as Professors and Principals, particularly Professor of English T. Viswanadha Rao AU PGE Centre Kakinada and Sri. V. Martin Luther, M.A.L.T., served as principal and brought laurels to the institution. This department is one of the oldest institutions where Special English is taught continuously.
