Principal's Message

The GOVERNMENT  DEGREE COLLEGE FOR MEN, Srikakulam, being one of the oldest higher educational establishments in the state, having been founded in 1951, and popularly known as Govt. Arts College in the North Coastal Andhra, has played a historic role in the dissemination of quality education aiming at academic excellence of the aspirants. At present, around 2000 students from various places of the district, especially of rural backdrop, are studying in the college, which caters to the higher education pursuits of both the undergraduate and post graduate students and, accordingly, offers a number of courses in staunch adherence to the current academic and employment requirements of the students.

Located in the heart of the city, our college is the cynosure of all eyes, renowned for its unparalleled beauty and rich greenery interspersing the 38-acre sprawling campus. Besides having highly qualified staff with research perspective and with a tendency to update their knowledge, the college has rich infrastructure to suit the needs of entire student strength. Our students are so trained as to grow self-confident and pragmatic in their approach to life challenges with courage. The college has produced thousands of students whose bright and successful careers have ultimately benefitted the society

Education being the effective medium of social transformation, departments of NCC, NSS, Physical Education, Career Guidance Cell, Red Ribbon Club Women Empowerment Cell offer integrated services for the multi –faceted development of our students.
