Rain Water Harvesting

At Government Degree College for Men, Srikakulam, we are committed to sustainability and the responsible use of natural resources. One of our key initiatives is harnessing rainwater to conserve water on our campus.

Key Initiatives:

Rainwater Harvesting System:

We have installed a rainwater harvesting system that includes four pits located in different areas of our campus. These pits are designed to capture rainwater and allow it to seep into the ground.

Groundwater Recharge:

By directing rainwater into these pits, we help to recharge the groundwater, reducing the need for other water sources like municipal supply. This helps us use water more wisely and ensures that we are not overusing available water resources.

Water Conservation:

The rainwater collected in these pits naturally replenishes the groundwater table. This not only supports our campus's water needs but also contributes to the overall health of local water resources, ensuring that water is available for future generations.

Through these efforts, our college is playing a vital role in promoting water conservation and sustainability in the community. We are proud to take these steps to protect and manage our water resources responsibly.
