• Strengths

1. Strongly inherited documentation process,Excellent maintenance of Library, Laboratory and Instrument facilities

2. Committed faculty members who are willing to learn new things, adapt themselves to the required academic challenges and walk extra mile to meet the department’s goals.

3. Good Interpersonal relationships and team spirit among the faculty members.

4. PG course in Organic Chemistry is functioning on sound lines 

5. Attempts are made to develop the Practical skills of the students to make them fit for placement in industry.

6. Conducting Skill and Job-oriented Certificate Courses 

7. Gained the experience of conducting Seminars, Work Shops, Webinars, and Popular Lecture Series at National and International Level

1. Low research output

2. Time management to perform multitasking

3. Less number of publications in Journals 

4. Inadequate special fee funds to purchase chemicals and instruments      

• Opportunities

1. Department has very good contacts of external experts. Such contacts should be effectively used.

2. Potential faculty members who can excel in teaching

3. Adequate academic resources available

4. Chances of Placements in industries and labs located in the surrounding places 

5. Students are exposed to advanced instruments. 

• Challenges

1. Enable students to appreciate and imbibe the societal relevance of the concepts that they study in classroom through innovative teaching methods.

2. To balance the individual differences among the students in class who come from varied curricular background such as Level of schools (Matriculation school, Government school, rural and urban, and CBSE)

3. Poor communication skills of the rural students may affect their employment opportunities 

4. Shortage of Lab Assistants due to non- recruitment may affect the smooth and effective conducting of Practicals. 

• Future plans 

1. To construct Additional Lab

2. To develop Chemistry Lab with Modern equipment

3. To organise more field trips to various Pharma Industries

4. To organise offline National seminars
